A Four-Hour Foundation in Mindfulness


Course Information

This course is based on the principles and practices of Jon Kabat-Zinn's Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Take the time to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. This four-hour experiential workshop offers a practical introduction to Mindfulness through guided practice, gentle movement, reflection, and discussion. Designed for beginners as well as those wishing to renew their practice, the day focuses on simple, evidence-informed skills that can help reduce stress, improve focus, and bring greater ease to everyday life. Throughout the workshop, participants will experience: • Waking Up from Automatic Pilot – Discover how mindfulness helps us become more aware of our thoughts, habits, and daily patterns. • Coming Home to the Body – Practice guided body awareness, gentle mindful movement, and breath meditation to cultivate presence. • Meeting Thoughts with Kindness – Learn practical ways to respond rather than react to stress, including the simple and effective STOP practice. • Living Mindfully – Explore mindful communication, self-compassion, and ways to bring mindfulness into everyday activities. • Guided body scan meditation • Two 20-minute refreshment breaks (bagels, pastry supplied by instructors.) • A participant workbook and home practice guide Come and bring an open-minded and open-hearted willingness to explore with curiosity and kindness. No previous meditation experience is necessary. Come as you are and wear comfortable clothing, You will leave with practical tools and the confidence to begin, or deepen, a Mindfulness practice that supports you in everyday life.
